Introduction

We have all used Doodle. For years, it has been the go-to tool for finding a mutual meeting time for ten busy people. You create a poll, input five dates, send it out, and watch the checkmarks roll in.

But as calendars have become more connected and modern scheduling competitors have introduced group booking tools, Doodle has struggled to adapt. Today, the platform is cluttered with advertisements, and its premium pricing feels outdated. Is it still the best tool for group polls?

Key Features

1. Group Availability Polls

This is Doodle’s core offering and what it does best. The “Group Poll” feature lets you suggest multiple times and dates. Participants vote on their availability (Yes, No, or “If-Need-Be”). Doodle highlights the slot with the most positive votes, making it clear when to schedule the meeting.

In recent years, Doodle launched its own version of a Calendly link: “Booking Page”. It allows individuals to share their availability. While it works and syncs with Google/Outlook, it is very basic, lacking the custom branding, routing, or payment collections found in dedicated apps.

User Experience and Ads

For a free user, the experience of scheduling or voting on a Doodle poll has become highly frustrating. The page is heavily saturated with display ads, video pop-ups, and cookies consent modals. It feels slow, cluttered, and unprofessional to send to clients.

To remove ads, you must purchase a Pro subscription. However, compared to other services on the market, Doodle’s premium interface feels static, and its mobile applications are buggy.

Pricing Analysis

Doodle’s pricing structure has shifted towards a paid-only focus for business users:

  • Free Plan: Create basic group polls. Saturated with advertisements.
  • Pro Plan: $6.95/user/month (billed annually). Removes ads, adds Zoom integration, custom branding, and booking pages.
  • Team Plan: $8.95/user/month (adds team console and member management).
  • Enterprise: Custom pricing.

Schedulizer Verdict

If you need to coordinate a one-off meeting for a large group of people who aren’t in the same organization, Doodle’s free poll tool is still a viable option simply because everyone knows how to use it, and participants don’t need an account.

However, if you are looking for professional, ad-free scheduling for yourself or your team, Doodle’s premium subscription is difficult to recommend. Tools like Cal.com or Calendly offer far more features, better designs, and significantly higher value for the money.
